· Open Weekend cancelled

The public Open Weekend at the tunnel entrances proposed by the Liverpool Architecture and Design Trust for 10th/11th May has been called off. The decision as to whether it would go ahead was in the hands of the development consortium and we were informed recently that despite our offer to help make the days a success they had decided to cancel. The reason was not made clear.

· Annual General Meeting on 15th May

Friends of Williamson's Tunnels will hold its first Annual General Meeting on 15th May at Devonshire House, Edge Lane, Liverpool (7.30pm). This meeting is strictly open to FoWT members only. The consitution of the committee will be voted upon, as will the future direction of the society - specifically whether we should compromise our original aims and back the property development and its plans for a much reduced tunnels site or whether we should continue to try and save all the tunnels. The results of this important meeting will be posted here shortly afterwards.
