This drawing shows the mechanics beneath John Ramsbottom's massive chimney which ventilated the original railway tunnel where it passed underneath Williamson's land. The railway tunnel is bottom right. It is believed that the step-roof chamber between it and the chimney mechanism is a Williamson structure. It is more than likely intact to this day, though the bricks that made up the chimney may well have been poured into it when the chimney was demolished in the 1960s.
