| This view of the classic arch in the entrance chamber under the house is only normally seen by explorers on their way back up from the Banqueting Hall. The arch as you can see it is about 8 feet high, but is really much taller as you are standing on rubble which is several yards deep. As is so often the case in the tunnels, you are in a false position up against the ceiling in this area. Natural daylight pours in from the trapdoor in the house floor, above the photographer's head. |
