| In the 1920s a local company was employed to knock a hole in this location to fit a petrol tank, prior to the coachworks of Mr. P M Willey taking over the premises. We have heard from a very credible source that when they did so they found an underground room with tunnels going off in all four directions. The tank was fitted and the room hasn't been seen since, although it may temporarily have been visible when a car lift was fitted for Hill's motor works a few decades later. |
