3-D View of Paddington tunnels
Below are sketches of the three layers of tunnels we have uncovered so far at the Williamson Student Village (Paddington) site.
This first picture shows the ground level, with the entrance hatch on top, and the first and (partially) second layers below ground. For clarity, the new metal steps and original stone steps which take one to the bottom of the trench are not shown. The red arrow marks the currently blocked tunnel that has yet to be explored.

This image shows the second level below ground - an 'H' shape, with a short linking passage between two longer arms. There are several interesting arches in this area. The red break in the arch roof is the point where FoWT broke through to rediscover this site in 1999. At the side (bottom left) the stone steps continue downwards.

Finally (for now), this picture shows the deepest level - three storeys below the surface. Here again is an 'H' shape, but with one much longer side. This is as far as the side steps go, so the entrance to the lower levels must be elsewhere in this area, no doubt hidden beneath the masses of rubble which fill this part of the labyrinth. The red rectangle is the location of the trench dug by FoWT to try to establish the depth of this layer.
