Finally, we turn back out of the third storey below ground and look at the original hand-cut steps of the side stairwell. These were buried in rubble when FoWT discovered them, but once cleaned they were in very good condition - a lot less worn than the top few which lead into the second storey. Clearly, the third storey wasn't used much in the years leading up to this area being buried and 'lost' in the 1930s.
