At the far side of the third storey down, an explorer shines a light along the long side arm of the H-shape. The rubble just in front of the photographer is mainly ash, or clinker. It is clear from experience in other parts of the tunnels that one is in a falsely high position at this point - up near the ceiling, with the real floor a long way below underneath a thick layer of rubble.
