| One of the classic rumours about the tunnels is that Williamson built a tunnel from his house to St. Mary's church so that he could go to church on a rainy day without getting wet. This, unfortunately, ignores the fact that his church was St. Thomas's in the city centre. However, very strong evidence came to light early in 2000 to suggest that there is a tunnel from St. Mary's graveyard, running to the site of the Paddington/Williamson Student Village dig. This will be investigated very shortly. |
