The huge triple decker tunnel, 25 feet wide, disappears into darkness ahead of us. Ever present are the peaks of rubble, dumped here some 100 years ago. Re-discovered in Spring 2002, this 180 foot stretch of tunnel is only the top layer; there are two equivalent layers directly beneath.
